We’re thrilled to have you join us for the upcoming club season.

 

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. 

To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa or MasterCard information available.

IMPORTANT: Medical Release Form Required
Please print and fill out the Medical Release Form and bring it with you to tryouts.
Athletes will not be allowed to participate without this completed form.

USA VOLLEYBALL JUNIOR PLAYER AGE DEFINITION For use during the 2025-2026 Season

TRYOUT MEMBERSHIPS

Athletes who are unsure if they will make a club team should purchase a tryout membership then upgrade to a regular membership once they have made a team. The cost of a tryout membership is applied to the cost of a full membership. 

Athletes who are certain they will make a team may purchase a full season membership to attend tryouts. This membership type is NON-REFUNDABLE . 

All athletes trying out will need a current ERVA/USAV membership.

Tryout Process

✅ Team Yakima Tryout Check-In Requirements

Arrival Time:
Please arrive at your scheduled tryout start time.

‍‍ Athlete & Parent/Guardian:
All athletes must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at check-in.

Pre-Registration Required:
Athletes must be registered for tryouts before attending.

Required Documentation at Check-In:

Proof of ERVA/USAV membership (Full or Tryout-only accepted)

Completed ERVA Youth & Junior Medical Release Form

Notify us if you wear or carry a medical device – this information will remain confidential with our staff in case of emergency.

Parent/Guardian Meeting:
A mandatory meeting for parents/guardians will be held 30 minutes after tryout begins.

Uniform Sizing:
Athletes will be sized for uniforms before tryouts begin.

Personal Items:
Athletes will be assigned a check-in table. Leave water bottles and other personal belongings there.

Dress Code:
Come ready to play. Athletes must wear:

Spandex

T-shirt

Knee pads

Gym Expectations:

Athletes must sit in the bleachers until called onto the court.

No one is allowed to observe from the gym floor and must stay seated in bleachers

Spectators may sit in the stands but leave the first two rows of bleachers open for athletes only.

No photography or video recording is allowed during tryouts out of respect for all participants.

What to Expect During Tryouts

Athletes will be placed by age division and may rotate through groups.

Lead coaches and head coaches with clipboards will evaluate athletes using detailed fo

All volleyball skills

Speed, agility, and footwork

Teamwork, leadership, and how athletes respond to mistakes even shagging

Ages 8U–12U

We focus on fun, fundamentals, and helping young players shine.

Ages 13U–14U

We welcome new and returning athletes and aim to prepare them for middle school and high school volleyball.

Ages 15U–18U

Tryouts become more competitive. Athletes will be pushed to give their best and grow through their mistakes.

About Our Coaching Staff

  • We are a diverse and experienced team made up of:

Former and current college coaches

Former collegiate athletes

High-level club and high school standouts

Coaches with 30+ years of experience

All teams are led by an experienced head coach and an assistant.

High school mentee coaches are always supervised and paired with experienced staff — never left to run practices or lineups on their own.

Our coaches continue learning, mentoring each other, and prioritizing athlete development and family relationships.

We do this for the youth of our community and beyond, and we thank you for being a part of Team Yakima!

Offers & Acceptance Process

U12–U18 Summer Tryout & Signing Period

️November 1st , 2025

During this period, clubs may host tryouts and extend offers to athletes at any time within the window.

Important Notes:

Clubs are not required to host open tryouts.

Offers may be extended without a formal tryout.

DEAD PERIOD: August 4 – October 31, 2025

During this time:

❌ No Tryouts

❌ No New Offers

This moratorium is in effect until the Fall Tryout Period begins on November 1, 2025, and continues thereafter.

Can’t Attend Our July Tryouts?

If you're interested in playing for Team Yakima but cannot attend tryouts in July, please email us at:

Can you attend a make-up tryout on July 28 if invited?

Are you trying out for any other clubs?

Please note:
We will not issue any verbal offers prior to the first day of tryouts, in accordance with USAV Tryout Rules.
You must still complete Team Yakima's tryout registration and pay the tryout fee to be considered.

⚠️ Playing Up a Division?

If you'd like to be considered for an older age division, you must attend your actual age group tryout first.
Let us know your intention at check-in. Our staff will evaluate you within your age group and make any necessary placement decisions.

Top Team Travel Commitment Notice

If you do not wish to be considered for a top travel team which is 2-3 day tournaments and we do travel 2-3 times a month. This year we want to strive for more qualifiers for these teams and less travel to the smaller tournaments. Our 2nd teams in each age division will attend a MLK & President Weekend tourney and March Mania.  3-4 level teams will be local travel 2 tourney a month.

Team Yakima Hosted and local tournaments hosted by outside clubs

Tryout Process

Athletes will compete and be evaluated by our coaching staff during tryouts.

We will begin forming offers on the court.

Athletes receiving offers will be invited to an assigned team table with their parent/guardian to discuss details and receive paperwork.

Afterward, teams will return to the court with their coaches to close out tryouts.

Team Formation Details

12U Division and 11U/10U Division

Will have Travel Teams 

Practice twice a week and 2 tournaments a month

Ages 8U-12U can tryout for these teams 

8U -12U Elevate League (Sept-Oct) and (Jan-March) NO CUT POLICY WE PROVIDE A DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Focus is on learning and development

Will practice twice a week and participate in 1 developmental tournament in January, February, and March

Elevate athletes can re-tryout on November 1 for travel team opportunities
